PS Adapt
PS Adapt
attaches to your adapted wheelchair
Occasionally a scripted wheelchair is not compatible with the more popular personal stairclimber models e.g. PS Universal and PS Track. In such cases, the PS Adapt is often the only solution, providing your wheelchair is deemed suitable for modification.
To use the PS Adapt, you simply roll the stairclimber under your adapted wheelchair and engage with the locking plates. The wheelchair can then be used to move around in a conventional way. It is effectively carrying the PS Adapt around with it, ready for stairclimbing.
In order to move up and down stairs, you simply raise the wheelchair by using the PS Adapt lifting function. This will raise the wheels of the wheelchair off the ground. The wheels are then removed from the wheelchair and re-positioned ready for the climb. (The wheels of your wheelchair need to be detachable).
Now you can negotiate any type of stairs. Once you have completed the climb, simply reattach the wheels to your wheelchair to move freely within your environment. Simply leave the PS Adapt lifting unit attached to the wheelchair, ready for further stair climbing.
PS Adapt (Plus)
PS Adapt (Plus)
a solution with a high-quality wheelchair
In addition to the PS Adapt stairclimber, we also offer wheelchair users the PS Adapt (Plus). This includes a lightweight, modern, pre-adapted wheelchair.
For individuals without a wheelchair or who do not require a scripted wheelchair (but want the option to use their wheelchair with or without a stairclimbing unit), the PS Adapt (Plus) is the ideal choice.
As with the other models, the whole system fits neatly into the boot of your car to accompany you wherever you go. These ingenious machines move smoothly and softly without leaving marks or scratches on floor and stair surfaces.
